Am I still macho if I use moisturiser?

November 10th, 2008

This is something that’s been bothering me for some time.  Male grooming…Is it ok and if so - to what extent.

Personally, I use face moisturising cream after I’ve had a shave to calm the skin down a bit but that’s about it. These days though, there is a wide range of products for blokes that are available all over the place and loads of my friends and aquaintances now have “beauty regimes”.

One guy I know wears foundation every time he goes out, another shaves his chest and another…..his balls.  All use moisturiser.

My dad still uses the good old bar of soap and says any man that uses anything else is a “big jess”.  I’m interested to know what people think. So, has society moved on a notch?  Is it now ok to use products like this and admit it??  Or does that make you “a big jess”….

I’m not too sure about the ball shaving, I reckon what you get up to in your private life ought to stay there Jon!!!!!!

As for moisturising, well I can’t see anything wrong with that. I moisturise twice a day, but then again having a wife thats a Body Shop consultant doesn’t give me much choice really!!!!!!!!!

Since I started moisturising though I’ve noticed that I like to wear pink alot….hmmmmmmm maybe its not such a good idea.

Oh well, I’ll think about that whilst I’m having my manicure done.

Chest shaving. It depends on your skin and comfort level. I use soap:)
