Bollocks..stuck on three and half stone, got pretty depressed about the whole so started to smoke again. The car failed its MOT so I had to sell it too which bites the big one as I loved that car.
Other than that, everything is fine and golf is getting better…
Chin up eh! lol

I’ve decided to drop a few pounds this year and look at a diet that I could easily manage with my busy life. I looked at a few but finally decided on the Weight Watchers at home plan as my wife thought it was ace.
So I got on the website, signed up and awaited my delivery of diet goodies to get me going…By the time the pack arrived I was already into the third day of my diet and feeling pretty hungry, missing all the things that made me fat in the first place, namely Pizza. Read more…

A lot of golfers use their wrists to putt which is one of the worst things you can do. Although you need a light grip, your wrists should be totally locked when putting to stop the club head moving all over the place during your swing. Read more…

Golf, Golf Tips
Decent golf tips are difficult to come by so I’m going to start adding a new one every couple of days so you can practice your skills over the winter. All of these tips can be practiced in the range or out on the course.
Try them out while you’re at the range by printing one off and taking it with you, or just look it up on your mobile while you’re there. Remember though, don’t fry your brain by trying too many tips at once, just master each one at a time and you’ll get some real success.
If you’re just starting out in golf, get lessons. It’s so worthwhile and will set you up properly for the future. I was taught by my dad which was great but meant that I instantly copied all his bad habits which still haunt me today.
If you’re an internediate golfer, then you should find these tips extremely helpful. Learn how to draw the ball, fade the ball, swing better, aim better, grip better. Quite simply, everything you need.
If you’re a pro, then leave some comments or maybe write a tip or two for the rest of us so we can enjoy some of your success!
Whoever you are, thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy all the info. RJ

This is why I play the damn game

Brad Clegg with his smashed camera
John Daly beat up his biggest fan in Australia today…the camera. Having caught Daly doing all sorts of things in the past, it was about time it got the kicking it deserved, or so Daly thought as it captured him duffing another shot. The camera belonged to a another fan, Brad Clegg who luckily escaped a beating himself.

Callaway Prizes
Callaway has just emailed me with a great Christmas game that’s worth a shout. Their Driving Home for Christmas game could win you a brand new set of Callaway Golf clubs or a Callaway Winter Warmer Goody Bag!
The challenge? Hit a present that’s fallen off Santa’s sleigh. Make the shot and you’ll be entered in their daily draw for the Goody Bag (one to give away every day until 21st December). Lead the pack at the end of the competition and you’ll win a full set of Callaway Golf clubs.
Simple as that. The daily goody bag prize includes a Callaway Golf watch, waterproof bucket hat, waterproof hat, one pair of mittens, one caddy towel, one locker room duffel bag, and more.
The main prize includes a Callaway Golf Driver, two Callaway Golf Fairway Woods, eight Callaway Golf Irons, one Callaway Golf Wedge, one Odyssey Putter, and much more…
I know they’re just asking for emails but still, if you like golf. Why not. Good luck!

Aldi has just announced it is selling lots of lovely golf gear at very cheap prices this winter. As from tomorrow the 4th December you will be able to find it all on the shelves.
It is not all cheap rubbish either, they’ve got some decent titleist golf balls to chose from. It looks like a great deal if they’ve got any left by the time I get there.
Anyway, here are the bits on offer:
Weatherproof Golf Suit, £14.59 - Why should rain stop play? This suit, available in black or navy, gives waterproof protection against sudden downpours. Read more…

Australian champion Peter Lonard seems to be worried that new golf pros coming through the ranks in Australia are becoming “wussy” and reliant on sports shrinks, yoga instructors and gurus of all kinds.
He’s currently in Queensland gearing up for the Australian PGA which he hopes to win for the fourth time. With the tournament to tee off on Thursday, he’s found time to seek out a journalist and complain that golfers are just copying the field of top-tier golfers.

Callaway has annouced a deal in the US that allows you to trade in your old clubs and use the money you get to buy a nice new set of Callaways. A great idea that I hope they roll out to the UK.
Apparently you get $10 for an old Big Bertha Iron which is great. You can pick them up for next to nothing on the internet so theoretically you could buy 12 sets of rubbish old ones for $80 each ($960) and trade them in…
So that’s 14 clubs x 12 = 168 clubs. 168 x $10 = $1,680
Sweet, new set of Irons for not much effort. Ok, in practice in wouldn’t work I know but it’s a nice idea I think. You can trade in any manufacturer of club including Cobra, Titleist, Taylor Made etc all for varying money.
Come on Callaway, roll it out in the UK. Check out this link for the full trade in values pricelist.
