I want a decent Mercerdes 300CE for £800

So, does it exist? Not sure. I think I’ll find out soon enough. I’ve seen a few around and they look like a lovely car if the wheel arches aren’t rusted. I’m hope for a old G reg one like this..
It’s a 3 Litre so will cost tons on fuel but I only live half a mile from work so I’ll hardly ever use it. The tax will be cheap though as it’s so old which is cool!
All the ones I’ve seen so far for that price have got rusted arches or wasted interiors but you never know, I might get lucky on ebay.
Hmmph. Would be nice to have just £1,000 more to spend, then I could get a minter. Such as life and all that..wish me luck!
Update:
Ok, bought the car this weekend. Seems I was a little hasty. Pretty pissed off actually. It runs fine but that’s about it. The electrics are screwed, the spare wheel is from a different car, the drivers window broke, as did the windscreen wiper on the way home.
Oh yeah, the radio is rubbish, the arial has snapped off and I broke down yesterday morning. Turns out the fuel pump relay or ecu needs replacing. FFS!
I’m not so bothered that it all needs doing, I’m just pissed off that I didn’t spot it. Unfortunately, it was chucking it down with rain when I arrived - classic mistake. Anyway nevermind. I just hope I can afford to fix it. (Cry)….spot the mug…anyone know a decent mecanic? lol.

Right. You bought a MERCEDES BENZE for less than £1000! I think you should stop beating yourself up, get out there and give it all the love and attention it deserves to get it perfect! (just don’t forget about your wife!!)
I already love it for all it’s little ‘quirks’ ie. ‘will I be able to see how fast I’m going this evening?’ or ‘will the lazy wiper blade work in this thunderstorm?’. It makes life interesting, and after all babes, life with you is never dull!!
This may mean that my husband is about to become a dirty grease monkey, but hey! Perhaps that’s something I could get into… !! xxx
